PANEL 1
CLOSE UP OF JAY'S PHONE SCREEN. HE AND LISA HAVE BEEN TEXTING BACK AND FORTH. JAY'S FACE IS REFLECTED IN THE SCREEN'S GLASS. HE LOOKS SAD. IRIS AND THE KIDS ARE OFF-PANEL.

TEXT MESSAGES:
Jay had sent Lisa an image of some sort. The majority of it is cut off, and only the very bottom of it can be seen. The picture has a white background, and the object itself is brown and twisted upon itself. It looks like it could be in the shape of a loop.
Lisa: Oh. Bad day?
Jay: Yes
Lisa: Wanna talk about it?
Jay: Lost my shit in front of a coworker. And now we're talking about my ex-supervisor. Kinda wanna drop dead.
Lisa is typing...

PANEL 2
Iris: ... Anyway. Do you drink coffee, Eric?
CLOSE UP OF JAY'S EYE. HE LOOKS STARTLED.

PANEL 3
JAY IS LOOKING IN IRIS' DIRECTION, HUNCHED OVER SOME. HE LOOKS EMOTIONALLY HURT. HIS PHONE IS VIBRATING IN HIS HAND. IRIS AND THE KIDS ARE OFF-PANEL.
Jay: I-it... It's--
Iris: Hm?

PANEL 4
BOTH JAY AND IRIS ARE ON-PANEL. IRIS IS STILL TYPING AT THE COMPUTER. JAY IS LOOKING AT HIS PHONE AGAIN, DISTRACTING HIMSELF. THE PHONE'S SCREEN IS NOT VISIBLE. THE KIDS ARE OFF-PANEL.
Jay: Not important. Yeah, I do.

PANEL 5
CLOSE-UP OF IRIS HAND. SHE'S REMOVING HER ID CARD FROM THE COMPUTER MONITOR.
Iris: Well, coffee's in the office.

PANEL 6
CLOSE UP OF IRIS' FACE. SHE LOOKS IRRITATED AGAIN.
Iris: One of the surgeons are waiting in there, too. She's probably getting bored. You should go keep her company, since it's your fault.

PANEL 7
JAY IS IN THE FOREGROUND. HE HAS TURNED AWAY FROM IRIS AND IS RAKING HIS RIGHT HAND THROUGH HIS HAIR. HE'S WALKING AWAY. IRIS IS IN THE BACKGROUND, BEHIND HIM. HER ARMS ARE BEHIND HER BACK. SHE STILL LOOKS IRRITATED.
Jay: I'd rather set... s-sit, in the hall alone, actually. Do what you told me, with the, uh. Looking up that Genesis guy thing.
Iris: Suit yourself.
