Sirius seems pretty unmoved by Rigel’s story.
I can’t imagine why that might be.

Also! A bonus short story went up today!

SETTING: THE FLASHBACK HAS ENDED. THE COMIC IS IN COLOR AGAIN, AND WE ARE BACK IN THE MED WARD. THE ONLY THING THAT'S REALLY CHANGED BETWEEN THE FLASHBACK AND NOW IS THAT SIRIUS IS ON HIS TABLE AGAIN.

PANEL 1
SIRIUS IS LYING DOWN ON ONE OF THE STEEL TABLES. RIGEL IS STILL SITTING.
Rigel: ... now I'm here. Where they're planning to cut my head open, right in the next room. And there's nothing I can do about it.

PANEL 2
Rigel: And I knew something was different today, too. Jay wouldn't say anything, he just... kept pretending to text, or something. To avoid me.
Sirius, rolling his eyes and sarcastic: Sounds rough.

PANEL 3
RIGEL IS QUIET FOR A MOMENT, WATCHING SIRIUS. HE HAS DEFINITELY PICKED UP ON THE SARCASM IN SIRIUS' VOICE, THOUGH HE'S NERVOUS, NOT ANGRY.

PANEL 4
SAME SHOT. RIGEL IS GLANCING DOWN AND OFF TO THE SIDE NOW, AWAY FROM SIRIUS. HE'S HESITANT TO CONTINUE.
Rigel: ... Sirius...

PANEL 5
SIRIUS IS STILL LYING DOWN. HE'S WATCHING RIGEL WITH JUST HIS EYES, AND DOESN'T LOOK QUITE AS SARCASTIC ANYMORE.
Rigel: ... Do... you ever wonder what we are?
